VIX and More: The Month in Words
Anyone who has yet to experiment with Wordle is missing out. First brought to my attention by Barry Ritholtz at The Big Picture, Wordle is a site that lets users turn text into a word cloud, with a wide array of creative options.
Wordle can be used purely for fun, for analysis, or for any number of purposes. It might also have some value as an archival tool too.
Without further ado, here is a Wordle word cloud for all of the VIX and More posts from November 2008:

Looks like a fish or a brain... as you like :D Love the picture!
The word "government" is quite bold this month...
;)
Similar to the posting listed below, it would be interesting to read a posting that outlines when the VIX cash index last decreased by 25 points or by over 31% in less than five trading days. The Vix cash index traded at a high of 80.74 on November 21st and it closed at 55.27 (down 25.57 pts and 31.5%) on November 28th. The content of your blog entries are excellent and interesting to read. No doubt you will find methods to use the Wordie software to further enhance the quality of your blog entries.
Hi Bill,
First thing: I really appreciate reading your blog entries on various subjects.
Second thing: as VIX approaches its mid-term support of 50 and international indices are just below mid-term resistances, I think a post about your sentiment on the current VIX and SPX levels (as compared to HV or whatever) would be welcome :-)
Thanks again!
Thomas from France
That's really cool..Loved the information.
